New Business:

Kirk Neuman stated that he wanted to post pictures of the reunion on the web site and asked that anyone that wished, get their digital cards to him so he could copy them or to send them to him after the reunion.

A discussion of the newsletter, The Big Nickel, was held.  Carl Slack said that hardcopies cost about $2.50 each and snail mail costs ran about $5 each.  He recommended that the newsletter continue to be posted on thebignickel.org web site.  The recommendation was approved and The Big Nickel newsletter will continue to be posted on the web site.

Wayne Miller asked if it would be possible for those present at the reunion to get an email address listing of everyone who attended.  Carl Slack said that he would print out a copy and have it available later that day.

Carl Slack showed an example of a bumper sticker for another ship and said that he would look into getting bumper stickers made up for the USS Biddle/USS Claude V. Ricketts DDG-5.  (These would be for sale in the ships store).

Carl Slack recommended that Association Life Memberships be given to Bob Haner to honor his role in establishing the DDG-5 Association and to Kirk Neuman for his efforts and activities related to thebignickel.org web site.  The recommendaton was moved and approved.

After the vote on Life Memberships, general discussion about dues in general were held.  Mike Margeotes pointed
out that after ten years most members will become life members automatically if dues are $10 per year. That would then reduce and limit the amount of dues coming into the associationAfter some further discussion, Dennis Lamb moved to defer dues until Norfolk 2010.  The measure was seconded and passed.

Carl Slack stated that there would be a raffle for prizes at the dinner Saturday evening.  There was a discussion about who would have the honor of holding the last ships flag and the ships ribbons until Norfolk 2010.  It was decided that those who desired would participate in a special raffle at the dinner.

No further business was raised and a motion to adjourn the 2009 Crews Meeting was made by Tom O'Connel.  The motion was seconded and carried.
